Norton Middle School students take home top art honors

Norton Middle School’s art honorees with art teacher Ms. Badger and principal Mrs. Ketcham.

Norton Middle School (NMS) 8th grade students Audrey Alves, Yoselin Cortez Zurita, Makayla Malone, and Maria Ventura Sanchez have recently been recognized for their artistic submissions to the upcoming YAM and YPAE art show hosted by the Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) at the Kings Art Center on March 11th.

Annually, OAEA sponsors the Young People’s Art Exhibition (YPAE) and the Youth Art Month (YAM) Exhibition in conjunction with Youth Art Month every March in Central Ohio.

Zurita’s watercolor landscape and Alves’ watercolor landscape placed Top 85 in the State of Ohio and will advance to the next round of judging. There will be a “best in show” for both YAM and YPAE, as well as a “best in each grade level” per show.
