Finland Middle School Students Build Teamwork and Confidence at Grit ‘n Wit Event

Finland Middle School students recently participated in their biennial ‘Grit ‘n Wit’ event, a hands-on program designed to challenge students both physically and mentally while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance. The event gives students opportunities to collaborate, develop soft skills, and experience school in a fun and engaging environment.

“We want to make sure that our students are making friends, working together, and developing skills they might not encounter in the classroom,” said principal Tyler Winner. “Events like ‘Grit ‘n Wit’ give them a chance to communicate, solve problems and build confidence while having fun.”

‘Grit ‘n Wit’s’ on-demand courses feature a combination of puzzles and obstacles that require students to lean on each other’s strengths. Every student can participate, and teams work together to complete challenges, strengthen relationships, and develop pride in themselves and their school. By the end of the event, students not only cross the finish line but also gain confidence, resilience and excitement for future opportunities to grow and collaborate.

This year’s event continues Finland Middle School’s commitment to creating a positive school culture and giving students experiences that make learning memorable, meaningful and enjoyable.
