On Monday, Franklin Heights High School (FHHS) students Muzie Aden and Kenny Huynh received the news they had been waiting for several months: Both seniors had been named recipients of the prestigious QuestBridge Match Scholarship – a funding award that comes with a full four-year tuition to 52 of the nation’s top colleges.
Aden’s full tuition scholarship comes with admission to Stanford University, while Huynh’s full tuition scholarship comes with admission to Case Western Reserve University. As a part of the application materials, all applicants selected a number of universities with programs they would like to attend and, through the selection process, a MATCH is made pairing the scholarship winner with one of the schools they selected.

Out of an applicant pool that eclipsed some 25,500 students nationwide, Aden and Huynh were among only 2,627 to be named recipients of the scholarship. Match Scholarship recipients are admitted early to QuestBridge college partners and this year’s class of recipient seniors average an unweighted GPA of 3.94 and 92 percent are in the top 10 percent of their graduating class.
Both Golden Falcons plan to pursue pre-med tracks upon high school graduation. While both students recognize it is admittedly early to decide what type of profession they ultimately want to pursue in the medical field down the road, Aden has aspirations of becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon and Huynh sees himself pursuing Family Medicine.
As a part of their application process for QuestBridge, both students vocalized a deep appreciation to staff members Mrs. Furlong, Mrs. Spears, and Mrs. Parker for their reference letters and counselors Mrs. Binkley and Mrs. Coyne for their assistance in the application process.
Congratulations to these outstanding Golden Falcons on the their high honors ahead of commencement in May!
