Grove City High School named to 2023 U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools List

Grove City High School (GCHS) has been named to the 2023 U.S. News & World Report’s national Best High Schools rankings. The U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools rankings include data from nearly 25,000 public high schools across the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Scoring criteria for schools were ranked on six factors based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. Of the 17,680 national high schools, GCHS placed in the top 31 percent in the nation and top 20 percent in the state of Ohio. 

“We are excited to be named by US News & World Report as a 2023 Best High School as it is an external recognition of the hard work of our students, teachers, and entire school community,” said principal Mr. Bryan O’Shea.” “We are always excited to share the many great things going on at Grove City High School and this honor provides recognition of our school’s efforts and progress. Our staff and students are committed to continuous improvement and look to achieve even higher outcomes in the years ahead.”

In addition to these statistics, GCHS students received an overall composite score of 69.03 against the U.S. News & World Report’s evaluative criteria. In addition to this metric, GCHS placed….

  • Top 28 percent in Ohio in College Readiness (Top 35 percent nationally)
  • Top 23 percent in Ohio in College Curriculum Breadth Index (Top 28 percent nationally)
  • Top 30 percent in Ohio in State Assessment Proficiency Rank (Top 31 percent nationally)

Graduating 93.3 percent of students in 4 years and 92.9 percent of students in 5 years and a 33 percent AP participation rate, our Greyhounds continue to receive a high quality education and meet and exceed performance measures that well position them for college, a career, or the Armed Forces.
